About The Event
During Summer 2020, the Transition to Work event presented its first-ever online workshop for job seekers with a disability featuring the Ontario Chamber of Commerce's Discover Ability Network. The session covered how the Network can aid job seekers with a disability, and disclosure and accommodations when job searching. The session featured two inclusive employers and covered the following topics:
- The advantage for businesses to hire people with disabilities
- How and when to disclose or ask for accommodations when job searching
- Job search for people with disabilities
- How to determine if an employer is "disability friendly"
