Taking you from Employment to Employability for Life
Looking for ways to stand out to employers and get the competitive edge?
Now's your chance to be rewarded financially for sharpening your skills while engaging in challenges and competitions with peers and industry professionals outside the classroom!
The Employability Experience Fund offers awards to students to reduce financial barriers when they want to get involved in activities that give them industry experience and develop their employability skills.
What is an Employability Experience?
Any challenge based activity or competition that allows students to develop their employability skills to solve everyday or industry problems. Some examples of these experiences are Hackathons, Skills Competitions, Industry Projects, or Challenges. These experiences are created, supported, and/or run by members of your Faculty or the Centre for Innovations at Humber.
These experiences are another way to put your skills into action to make you more employable. To learn more about the Skills in Action from Humber's Learning Outcomes ( HLOs) click here.
If you are a Humber staff or faculty member interested in sharing this fund with students for an activity or experience? Submit this form and our team will assess the eligibility of the activity or experience.
What Experiences are available?
There are many experiences offered by each Faculty at Humber! Ask one of your Faculty members (or your Program Coordinator) about what is available for you based on your program. You can also reach out the Centre for Innovations at Humber to learn what they offer. Check out this list for some examples of what's available.
You can also check out the Centre for Innovations to see what experiences are being offered:
- Barrett Centre For Technology Innovation
- Centre for Creative Business Innovation

Is your experience not listed here?
We encourage you to still apply as new experiences are created by the Faculties and Centre for Innovations every year. Be sure to share all the relevant details in the application so it can be properly assessed to see if it qualifies for funding.
