  • Black Student Support & Engagement
    The BSSE Program at Humber College focuses on supporting Black, African, and Caribbean students to fully maximize their campus experience. The goal of BSSE is to create a holistic environment for academic, social, and professional development, as well as civic engagement. They provide community, resources, and support to help Black students thrive.
  • Ignite Black Excellence Scholarship
    In partnership with BSSE, IGNITE annually awards five Black-identifying students from the Humber College and University of Humber-Guelph community who showcase exceptional academic achievements, community leadership, and demonstrated financial need.
  • The Black Excellence Orientation
    The Black Excellence Orientation is hosted by the Black Student Support and Engagement (BSSE) program. This orientation aims to provide a warm welcome and essential resources for Black students, particularly those who identify as Black, African, and/or Caribbean. The orientation includes workshops, networking sessions, and informative presentations covering topics such as academic success strategies, mental health resources, career development, and cultural enrichment.
  • Black Alliance Internship Program
  • This is a one-year internship for Black or Black bilingual (French/English) post-secondary graduates within the last five years. It offers an opportunity to intern in 26 ministries in the Ontario Public Service.
  • Caribbean African Canadian Social Services (CAFCAN)
  • CAFCAN is a registered charitable organization that provides employment, mental health and social supports for African Canadians. They provide job search assistance, employment counselling, job placements and training support. They assess clients to determine what level of service they require and co-develop a plan of action.
  • CEE Centre for Young Black Professionals
  • The CEE Centre for Young Black Professionals is a charity dedicated to helping Black youth aged 14+ with employment, education and training support. They provide training programs and an online job board and address economic and social barriers through career training, sector growth, and social enterprise.
  • HueMax Recruitment
  • HueMax Recruitment is a social impact recruitment and placement agency based in the Greater Toronto and Southern Ontario regions. Their mission is to eliminate barriers to employment caused by racial bias. They support Black and disenfranchised BIPOC professionals by connecting them with job opportunities through their talent recruitment and placement services.
  • Black Professionals in Tech Network
  • The Black Professionals in Tech Network (BPTN) is a Toronto-based platform that actively supports Black tech workers in their career journeys. BPTN aims to combat systemic racism in the tech industry and bridge the talent gap. They connect Black developers, engineers, sales professionals, and marketers with job opportunities through partnerships with Canadian companies. BPTN hosts events, workshops, and masterclasses for networking and skill-building.

  • This platform provides job opportunities for Black job seekers from companies dedicated to diversity hiring. Its aim is to reduce unemployment in Black communities. Each post includes a brief job description and a link to apply. The website is free to use and features jobs in both US and Canada. Enter the job title and location to search.
  • Hire Diverse
  • HireDiverse is a career and job search hub for underrepresented professionals in Canada. It offers resources and training for Black, brown, and BIPOC candidates, helping them stand out in their job search.

  • BIPOC Jobs provides access to diverse job opportunities and connects jobseekers with supportive employers who prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion. Whether you’re looking for your next career move or seeking to post job listings, this platform caters to BIPOC professionals.
  • Jamaican Canadian Association Annual Scholarship Awards Program
  • The Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA) hosts an Annual Scholarship Awards Program that plays a vital role in supporting educational aspirations within the Caribbean and African communities in Ontario, Canada. Established in 2002, this program recognizes excellence and facilitates access to post-secondary education for students of Caribbean and African heritage who are pursuing studies at Ontario colleges or universities. The minimum award value of each available scholarship is $500 CAD. Applications open on April 30th, and successful recipients are notified in mid-late August.
  • Black Business and Professional Association
  • This charity supports the advancement of Canada's Black communities through programs promoting business and professional excellence, higher education, and economic development. They offer courses, videos, and resources for young professionals and entrepreneurs.
  • Somali Canadian Association
  • The Somali Canadian Association actively supports students by fostering a sense of community and empowerment. They host events that celebrate storytelling and cultural expression and students showcase their talents in art, poetry, and narratives. The association also hosts debate nights and discussions, encouraging open dialogue on topics relevant to the Somali and Muslim community, they also run a youth entrepreneurship program which involves mentorship and installments to help youth with the challenges all first-time business owners face.
  • Black Mentorship Inc
  • This organization connects Black youths, professionals, and entrepreneurs at different stages of their careers with industry experts through a unique mentoring program. This program addresses the challenges faced by Black and BIPOC professionals: providing resources, networking opportunities, and strong community support.
  • Nexgen Builders
  • The mission of NexGen Builders is to empower the next generation of construction trades workers and professionals. Through a unique mentoring program, they connect experienced mentors with aspiring individuals in the construction field. These mentors provide guidance, share insights, and offer practical advice. NexGen Builders also facilitates professional development, networking opportunities, and community collaboration. Their goal is to uplift Black professionals in construction to serve as role models for future generations.
  • Mentor Canada
  • Mentor Canada has collaborated with prominent employers such as Deloitte, Starbucks, RBC, and the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, connecting over 1500 young people to potential mentors. Their efforts create meaningful pathways for career growth and development.
  • Onyx Initiative
  • This organization assists the professional growth of Black Canadians after University/College by providing them with access to placements, mentorship, and professional development.
  • Black Ladders
  • Black Ladders is a program designed to provide guidance and support to young Black individuals as they navigate their career paths. The program connects Black mentors with Black mentees across various disciplines and educational levels.
