  • First Year Experience is an incredible support program that can help make your first year as successful as possible. FYE is a peer mentoring program for all Humber first year students.
  • Rise First
    This online platform offers over 1,200 resources tailored for first-generation and low-income students. These resources cover topics such as career exploration, job search strategies, financial literacy, and mental health support
  • How to College: First-Gen Podcast
    A podcast that shares first-gen narratives from high school and college students, graduates, and parents to provide support and resources for navigating the college journey.
  • I'm First
    An organization dedicated to empowering and supporting first-generation college students. Their mission is to provide resources, mentorship, and guidance to help students succeed academically and professionally. I’m First fosters a sense of community among first-gen students, creating spaces where they can connect, share experiences, and learn from one another.
  • Black Ladders First-Generation Pathway Program
    This program is aimed at assisting students in navigating their post-secondary journey, whether that involves college, university, or trades. Students gain access to over 20 curated workshops covering specific topics such as funding, student support, and resources for equity-deserving students. As a member of Black Ladders, high school students and those entering post-secondary or graduate school can benefit from these workshops.
  • Ontario First Generation Bursary
    The Ontario First Generation Bursary is a financial support program for postsecondary students in Ontario whose parents have never attended post secondary studies. It aims to assist those with financial need who are enrolled in publicly-assisted colleges or universities. The bursary helps create equitable opportunities for first-gen students pursuing their educational goals in Ontario.
