If you have a learning disability or mental health challenge; are on the autism spectrum; or have a hearing, speech, visual or mobility disability these events are for you.

  • Do you have an invisible disability, a learning disability or mental health challenge? Are you on the autism spectrum? Do you have a hearing, speech, visual or mobility impairment? Whatever your disability is this session will help prepare you for business networking.
  • This is an inclusive and accessible event open to all students and alumni with disabilities at both Humber Polytechnic and Seneca Polytechnic.

Light it Up! for NDEAM Photo GIVEAWAY Contest

Thursday, October 17

The evening of Thursday, October 17th the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation at the North Campus will be lit up purple and blue in support of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)

Last year, over 600 organizations across the country were involved in this event including the Lakeshore Campus Welcome Centre

To enter to win ONE OF TWO $100 prize cards:

  • Post an original photo of the purple lights at the Barrett Centre to your Instagram story. A picture of the building or a selfie/group photo in front of the building would work. Be sure to tag us @HumberCareer and add #NDEAM to your post and you'll be entered in the draw FIVE times for each photo.
  • OR

  • Share the Transition to Work page to your Instagram story and you'll be entered ONE time in the draw. Be sure to tag us @HumberCareer and add #NDEAM to your post.

The prize winner will be randomly selected and the winners will be announced on Monday, October 21st from the @HumberCareer Instagram account.

Student/Employer Networking Event

Tuesday, October 29

Humber Polytechnic students with disabilities are invited to attend a networking event with a variety of employers. This is a great opportunity to try out your business introduction ("elevator pitch") and conduct some informational interviews to help prepare you for the workplace.

  • Please register through Career Connect. Registration is required.
  • Attendees are eligible to win a $100 Everything gift card!
  • Staff from Advising & Career Services and Accessible Learning Services will be on hand to provide support.
  • Whether your disability is invisible or more apparent, this event is for you.
  • The event will take place in the atrium, ground floor, of the Barrett Centre, North Campus from 3:15-5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 29. Students are encouraged to arrive by 3:15 pm to check in.
