Level the Playing Field: TTW Launches Self-Advocacy Learning
Transition to Work (TTW) is committed to equity, inclusion, and accessibility and is proud to launch Self-Advocacy Learning - a dynamic initiative designed to empower people with disabilities for meaningful, inclusive employment. These modules are designed to equip learners with practical tools, confidence, and strategies to understand their rights, communicate their needs, and actively participate in shaping their academic and professional journeys.
Guest Speaker
Join us for a keynote by Marina Pinto Miller, Ph.D., an accomplished author, speaker, and disability advocate. Through powerful storytelling and lived experience with visible and invisible disabilities, Marina will share how self-advocacy shaped her career and how it can transform workplaces and learning environments.
Self-Advocacy Learning:
- Builds a strong self-advocacy mindset through engaging video modules
- Connects self-advocacy to Humber's Employability Skills
- Provides ready-to-use formulas and templates to craft a confident self-advocacy pitch
Learners, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend and be part of advancing self-advocacy across campus. Priority will be given to Learners as limited space is available.

The Transition to Work Program aims to enhance successful career outcomes and strategies for persons with disabilities through hosting workshops and events, and connecting learners with college support staff, employers, alumni and community agencies.
The Transition to Work Program for people with disabilities aims to:
- promote self-advocacy
