Advising Conference
On-campus PD for Staff or Faculty!
This event for Advisors, Program Coordinators, Faculty and Staff from all departments and academic faculties at Humber and Guelph-Humber to discuss, share, and learn about advising techniques, skills and issues that affect us all.
The Humber Advising Conference (HAC) provides a forum for engaging in academic and career advising approaches, high impact practices, and pedagogy. Sessions build on foundational skills and competencies, connecting advisors with a network of like-minded advising practitioners.
Career & Student Success Advising
Tell Your Students How We Can Help!
Our Career and Student Success Advisors (CSSAs) are assigned to each academic faculty and provide one-on-one support to students. CSSAs offer advising, services and programs to support students through their educational and career journeys. Faculty can refer students to the CSSA for their program, or consult with an advisor when they identify a student needing additional support.
Students can also book an appointment or drop by the Academic & Career Success Centre (Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) to meet with any CSSA for general advising.

Career Support Peers are student leaders and help with: Resume Review, Cover Letter Review, LinkedIn Advice, Interview Preparation/ Mock Interviews.
Career Advancement Services - Students and alumni can book an appointment for one on one Career Coaching in the evenings from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.
Career Development Workshops - evening workshop recommended for recent grads.
