What We Offer
Wraparound Support from Admission to Graduation
We provide holistic, personalized support to help you navigate your Humber experience with confidence. From your first day to graduation, we're here to walk alongside you.
- Student Success Advisor: A dedicated staff member will serve as your consistent point of contact, helping you access services, and advocate for your needs.
- Career Development: Access career counselling, resume support, interview prep, and paid experiential learning opportunities.
- Academic Success: Relationship-based referrals or personal introductions can be made to Humber's support services including, but not limited to:
- Advising for program fit, questions about grades and academic progress with a Career & Student Success Advisor
- Learning Services, including peer tutoring and study buddies, math and writing tutoring, STEM learning support, and learning skills workshops
- Entrance Bursary: Students who are currently in care and have applied for OSAP and self-identified in their application will receive a $2000 bursary.
- In/From Care Bursary: Students who were previously in care are encouraged to apply for OSAP and self-identify in their application to be eligible to receive the same $2000 bursary. If students wish not to apply for OSAP, they may visit www.humber.ca/myhumber and complete the "Students In/From Care Bursary" application. Supporting documentation (verification of status) from a Children's Aid Society will be required. Please see our how-to guide below for support in completing your bursary application.
- Counselling & Wellness Services: Confidential mental health support that honour all identities, including BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ students.
- Health Services: On-campus health care, including gender-affirming care and wellness programming.
- Accessible Learning: Support with creating an accommodation plan for academic courses with responsive accommodations and assistive technology.
- Community Building: Opportunities to connect through leadership programs, cultural events, including our First Year Experience and Peer Mentorship programs.
- Equity Hubs: Connect with our Black Student Success & Engagement Centre (BSSE), Indigenous Education & Engagement Centre, or LGBTQ+ Resource Centre to find identity-based communities within our larger campuses.
Eligibility
This program is open to current or incoming Humber students who have lived within the care of a child welfare agency (e.g., in foster care, group homes). Verification of care status may be required from your home province/country. Students would be eligible for this bursary for the length of their program plus one year while enrolled full-time. Students will be required to reapply for this bursary each year while enrolled in their program.

- Self-identify through your OSAP application or through Humber's Financial Need Analysis application (see Financial Support section above and our how-to apply guide).
- Connect with our Student Success Advisor to explore your options.
- Apply for financial support and review other on-campus services or financial resources tailored to your needs.
We will be adding new resources and content for each, in addition to those shared already.
